Virtue of the month.  Self-Discipline – Whakahau-hau

I am successfully practising the virtue of self-discipline when I…

Ø Use detachment so my emotions won’t control me

Ø Speak and act calmly when I am hurt or angry

Ø Get things done in an orderly and efficient way

Ø Create routines for myself

Ø Do what is expected without people having to remind me

Ø Do things on time

I have self-discipline. I use my time well and get things done. I choose my actions with detachment.

Union Meeting

The union meeting planned for the 18th March has been postponed.

Safety

Please follow our school procedures when collecting your children after school.  Get out of your car and walk into the school.  A number of

parents are still waiting across the road and allowing children to cross on their own.  Also, please do not drive and park on the wrong side of the road as children do not have the same perception of traffic as adults do.

Uniforms

I have a large number of uniforms that were ordered but no payments made.  If you are waiting for your child’s uniform then please see me.

Questionnaire

Thank you to the 31 people who sent back their questionnaire.  We were happy to note that all of you felt comfortable coming into our school and were happy about your child’s education.  We also thank you for your comments and we will be working to keep you informed.

Our Mission Statement is, “Educate Today for Tomorrow”.

This means we hope to give the children an education they will need now, and in the future, and the skills they will need to be able to find the information they need.

Kapa Haka

Finally we have someone who has put up his hand to organize our Kapa Haka.  Thank you Henry TeHiko, we have been trying for a long time to find someone with the skills needed.

NZ Standards

If you are interested in finding out more about the National Standards, NZEI is holding a meeting at Tokoroa Intermediate School on Thursday 4th March at 4.30 to 5.00pm.

Mufti Day - This Friday 5th March.  Children may wear mufti for a 50c donation.  They must still wear wide brimmed hats - NO CAPS.

Easter Egg Raffle - Tickets will cost 50c each and will be sold from next week onwards.  Zeetra will be selling the tickets at the end of each day until Easter.
